Air Release Valve
The VALMERU MAL Air Release Valve automatically releases accumulated air from pressurized water pipelines during normal operation, helping prevent trapped air pockets and maintain stable hydraulic performance. Compliant with AWWA C512 and M51, the premium MAL series offers broad size coverage and can be configured with advanced metallurgy and high-temperature seals for severe operating conditions.
DESCRIPTION
MAL is a high-performance hydromechanical air release valve engineered to maintain efficient pipeline operation by automatically venting trapped air under pressure. Its sensitive small-orifice mechanism supports stable flow, pumping efficiency and reliable asset protection, while robust construction provides powerful venting performance in severe-service applications.

MAL – AIR RELEASE VALVE FAQ
When should I choose MAL instead of MAV or MCV?
Choose MAL when the main requirement is to release accumulated air from a pressurized water pipeline during normal operation. MAV is primarily for large-volume air discharge and admission during filling and draining, while MCV combines both functions in one valve.
What size, orifice and connection options are available for MAL?
MAL is available with small orifices from 0.8 mm to 6 mm and flange sizes from 1/2 inch (ND 15A) to 6 inch (ND 150A). ANSI, NPT and PT connections are available, and other flange requirements can be discussed for the project.
Can MAL be supplied in materials for corrosive or demanding service?
Yes. The listed material combinations include carbon steel, stainless steel and nickel-aluminum bronze options, and Hastelloy, Duplex series and Incoloy series are available on request.
What information is helpful when requesting a quotation for MAL?
For a faster technical review, it is helpful to provide the required valve or line size, operating pressure, connection standard, material requirement and relevant pipeline or project conditions.
