DESCRIPTION

The precision crimped-ribbon element absorbs heat from a subsonic flame front as gases pass through carefully controlled channels, arresting flame propagation before it can travel through connected piping. VALMERU offers a complete lineup for in-line and end-line applications with optimized flow characteristics and modular elements for convenient inspection and maintenance.

BENEFITS

  • Definite Flame Propagation Arresting

IF-CIB / IT-CIB – DEFLAGRATION FLAME ARRESTER FAQ

What information should I provide to select the correct IF-CIB/IT-CIB flame arrester?

Temperature, pressure, explosion or gas group, fluid composition, required size and the intended installation arrangement are key inputs. These conditions are used to determine the appropriate flame-element configuration and MESG requirement.

How do I determine whether I need an in-line, end-line or other flame-arrester configuration?

The selection depends on where the arrester will be installed and the expected flame-propagation scenario. VALMERU lists in-line, end-line and detonation-type configurations, so the project piping arrangement and protection requirement should be identified during technical review.

What size and MESG ranges are available for IF-CIB/IT-CIB?

The listed size range is 1 inch (ND 25A) to 30 inch (ND 750A). Element gap sizes (MESG) are configured from 0.5 mm to 0.9 mm to cover Gas Groups IIA and IIB series (with Group IIC options available upon technical review).

Can IF-CIB/IT-CIB be supplied in special materials?

Yes. The standard material table includes carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum-alloy body options, and special materials are available on request.
