Combination Air Valve
The VALMERU MCV Combination Air Valve integrates air release and air/vacuum functions in a single assembly for pipeline filling, pressurized operation and drainage. Designed around AWWA C512 and M51 requirements, MCV handles bulk air during pipeline filling and drainage while continuously releasing accumulated air under pressure, delivering robust durability and flawless dual-venting performance for demanding service.
DESCRIPTION
MCV is engineered for critical pipeline locations where rapid bulk-air discharge, continuous air release under pressure and instant vacuum protection are all required. Its dual-orifice configuration helps maintain the hydraulic gradient, maximize flow capacity and support energy-efficient pipeline operation throughout filling, normal service and drainage.

When is MCV a better choice than using a single-function air valve?
MCV is suited to pipeline locations that need both large-volume air exhaust/admission during filling or draining and continuous release of smaller air pockets during pressurized operation. It combines the functions of an air/vacuum valve and an air release valve in one assembly.
Can one MCV provide both the MAL and MAV functions at the same pipeline location?
MCV integrates both high-capacity air/vacuum relief and automatic small-orifice air release within a compact assembly. For high-velocity filling or surge-prone systems, anti-slam (slow closing / non-slam) discs or surge check options can be provided upon request to prevent water hammer.
What size and orifice ranges are available for MCV?
MCV is engineered with small orifices ranging from 0.8 mm to 6 mm for pressurized air venting, and large orifices from 1 inch (ND 25A) to 30 inch (ND 750A) for bulk intake and discharge. Flanged connections are available from 1/2 inch (ND 15A) to 30 inch (ND 750A) in accordance with ANSI, DIN, and JIS standards, with custom ratings available upon technical review.
