Air Vacuum Valve
The VALMERU MAV Air Vacuum Valve, also referred to as an Air/Vacuum Valve, exhausts large volumes of air during pipeline filling and admits air during draining or vacuum conditions. Built around AWWA C512 and M51 requirements, the premium MAV series is available in a wide size range and can be configured for severe industrial conditions.
DESCRIPTION
MAV uses a large-orifice design to provide high-capacity air discharge while a pipeline is filling. During drainage or negative-pressure conditions, the valve opens rapidly to admit air and protect the pipeline against damaging vacuum. Its float-operated construction supports efficient filling, drainage and long-term heavy-duty reliability.

When should I choose MAV instead of MAL or MCV?
Choose MAV when the project mainly requires high-capacity air exhaust during pipeline filling and air admission during draining or vacuum conditions. If continuous small-air release under pressure is also required at the same point, MCV is generally the more appropriate VALMERU combination model.
What size and connection range is available for MAV?
MAV is available in sizes from 1 inch (ND 25A) to 30 inch (ND 750A). Threaded connections (NPT/PT) are available for smaller sizes, while flanged connections according to ANSI, DIN, and JIS standards are standard across the full range, with other connection standards available upon request.
Can MAV be supplied with special materials for severe service?
Yes. In addition to the listed carbon steel, stainless steel and nickel-aluminum bronze material sets, Hastelloy, Duplex series and Incoloy series are available on request.
